Imbu'd in me, Her Spirit sheer; o forbear for me for this yearning, dear. - rec by @TATERHOLE : Courtly Love

O, forgive me for mine own righteously felt heresy.

Instill'd in me is Her vision;
Solely, I seeth Her smile, a radiance of sunlight upon me.
Solely, Her lips speaketh unto me, as a Prophet of Divinity.
Solely, Her touch lifteth me, an embrace into Heaven most benevolent.
Solely, I perish partaking of Her Body, drowning in reverence within the taste of Her release.
Soully, I am Hers.

-- I may or may not have pulled this from a store of old medieval works and poems of mine (that I may or may not have spent many hours of my young adult life on)

-- Still, feelings of yearning stay the same throughout all years and eras, don't they

Monarch of Many Faces - recs by @ASPENSUNLIGHT : DODECAHEDRON & ICOSAHEDRON ON A CAT

a polyhedron crown upon his head,
weary, wisened eyes, astute, they spread.
surely Mandelbrot, as we, would offer liking,
of his fractals in fur, abstraction, ever striking.

though tired of the world, its axis tilted spin,
he offers his secrets from deep within:
"I, Benoit, will share with you,
the insights I have come to view.
food is good, but naps are best,
pats, forbidden, when I'm in zest."

a second crown of dual, upon his head,
or mayhaps a helm of fate instead.
to fight through chance, fortune spent,
the king adorns his armament:
"I, Benoit, shall tackle thee,
threads of woven destiny!
leaps of faith, paws at mice,
I won't flub rolls of any dice.
'cause either way, life's full of plenty,
but I know I'm worth a natural 20."

-- A welcome muse. I think Benoit is going to model all of the platonic solids for us! I'm holding out hope that we'll also see how some archimedean (or even catalan??) solids might rest on his head. I have no doubt that he can pull the looks off, but, can he balance 'em?

A Spell of Good Luck - rec by @NEVIN : WISHING PEOPLE LUCK

my craft I've perfected, my spells none can shackle,
(it's true I'm a witch, I've workshopped my cackle)

in my cauldron I stir delight,
my favourite spell removed of spite:

"herb of sage, dandelion clock, leaf of clover,
beckon good luck that lasts, is never over.
add my teardrop, though not of sadness,
from a welcome time of cheered up madness.

no hex, no harm, shall cross their way,
for kindness threads through all I say.
their car shan't conk, nor socks meet puddle,
they'll always find a needed cuddle.
their smile that gifts, may love find its kiss,
whence I weave this charmed fortune sealed with bliss."

-- I may not swirl concoctions and make potions of good luck every day, but I do think of people and wish them well. That's a nice bit of magic out into the universe I reckon.

Unburdened Haiku - rec by @BEEPBOOPBAP : POST-POOP MORNING TUMMY

Carbs from a night's feast,
Morning frees the bloated weight,
Peace begins anew.

-- Should we not be in awe of the breadth and relatability of the human experience
  including taking morning shites

Hello Little Bird! - rec by @LICHEN : LITTLE BIRD

"oh, hello little bird!", I say,
what chirps will you cheep to me today?
I'd like to know your songs quite well,
these melodies I hope will dwell.

we may not share a tongue to speak,
but maybe we could try a tweak.
I could whistle along with you,
whilst we stare this lovely view.

would you sing me of your nest,
where littler birds are safe at rest,
waiting for your feathered crest,
to trill and snuggle 'neath your chest.

-- this one just made me happy to write (:
